There were over 4000 people prespnt at the Caledonian Society* Gathering today. The weather was most unpleasant, but, notwithstanding, tho proceedings were highly successful. For the quoits, there were eight competitors, and H. Camerou and A. Dunlop were the winners. The Running High Leap fell to H. Ackres, who cleared sft. Throwing the 141b Hammer, was won by M'Leod, with 91ft llin. The best reel dancer proved to be M'Kellar, while for the Irish jig, Costello won the money. The Highland fling and the Gillie Callum were also won by M'Kellar, only the marches and the Pibroch by D. Campbell.
