Sir George Grey stated in the House this afternoon that Mr Naho had been sworn in a Minister, and would take his seat on the Ministerial Benches. This necessitates the appointment of another interpreter. The appointment has been conferred on Mr Grace, son of the Rev. Mr Grace, who was with the Rev. Mr Volkner, when ho was murdered some years ago. The -Land Bill has been before the Committee the whole afternoon. There is great excitement as to tho financial proposals of the Government, and people are anxiously awaiting Larnachs speech, which comes off at half-past seven. Tho land fund is to ho made colonial revenue. When the House met this evening, Mr Sheehan stated that the surveys in the Taupo country, which had been interrupted, were now being proceeded with. Mr Larnach in now reading his financial statement, and the galleries arc crowded.
