M'Donnell's conduct and Patea affairs are severely ciiticised. The resuit of the debate is doubtful. Colonel Kenny's motion for calling out the first class of the Militia was carried. The Militia are under arms in Napier. Grove, the gold prospector, reports the discovery of alluvial diggings in Tararua ranges.
