About 6.30. p m , upwaids of 30 gentlemen sat down to nu excellent dinner in the Hitmpden Hotel, provided !>y fhe landlord. Thf cli.iir was al>ly filled by M. S Glecson, Eiq., M. P. C, Piesidentof the Society, and the Vice-chair by II. Campbell, Esq. Ample justice having been done to the vaiious viands, the Pi ize List was read over, and the piizes given to the successful con pefciton amidst immense applause. Then followed the usual lova.1 and patriotic toasts, proposed by the Chaii man and duly responded to. "The H.impden Farmers' Society," hy the Vice-Chair-man Responded to by Mr F.unilton. ' " The success r ul Competitors," proposed >»y the Chnirman, and the " Unsuccessful Competitors," piopoaed by Mr Familton, both duly responded to. ' " The Judges," by the Chairman. Responded to by Mr Campbell. "The Pastoral and A<»?icultural Interetts of the District," proposed by the Vice-chairman. "'Ibe Committee," by the Chaii m.vn. Responded to by Mr Ci nig. "The Mercantile Interests of fTampden, and the Shipping Intei esN of Moernki," pioposed by Mr Murcott. Responded to by Mr Foid>ce. " The Strangers," by Mr Craig. Responded to by Mr Log.vn. ' The Ladies," by the Chairman. Responded to by Mr Foi djce. "The Host and Hostess, 1 ' by the Chairman. Duly received and retpo ded to "The Ch.iiim.in," by Mr Craig. Duly received and respond* d to. The Dinner. &c, were all that could be de«iied ; and the evening was spent very plfasantiy.
