PLOUGHING MATCH AT HAMPDEN.
The following is a detailed report of the al>ove event, to which we mode brief reference in our last week's issue : — The fiisfc Ploughing Match under the auspices of the Hampden Farmers' Society, took place on the 4th inst., on Mr Glee&on's farm. The day was all that could b» desired, and on the field was a gnodlr number of spectators from the surrounding distncts. The allotments weie about one-third of an acie, and the tune allowed 4i hours. At .1 given signal, fourteen ploughs staited, each competitor s eniingly determined to do his best.
