1.0.0. F. Lodge Notes
The Northern Star branch of the 1.0.0. F. held a meeting n the Methodist Hall, Kaitaia, last Tuesday evening. Bro. H. Findlay presided over a good attendance.- Two new members were initiated, Bros. Ross Smith and Frank Brent now being members of the Northern Star Lodge. The first nominations of officers for the ensuing term was received. Bro. Pearce was reported to be making progress in the Auckland Hospital. Bro. L. Heaton reported that he would be undergoing an operation in Auckland this week. At the close of the meting, Bro. E. Brent introduced Mr. Nicholson as a guest speaker and the members enjoyed a lecture by this gentleman on physical ducation in schools, the Noble Grand thanking the speaker on the Lodge’s behalf for his address and the vote of thanks being carried with acclamation. Messrs. D. Brynildsen and A. Havill of Papatoetoe have been on holiday in the North. They return home by plane on Saturday.
