Personal After spending the school holidays with her parents at Waipapakauvi, Miss Josephine Erceg returned by plane to Tauranga. Mrs. .Hally Wagener of Pukenui is an inmate of the Kaitaia Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Neville Jurisich of Kerikeri are taking up farming in the district. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Williams and family have returned to the North and are taking up farming at Kauri Flat. Mr. Jack Rippingale has returned home after spending his holiday in Auckland. Mr. and Mrs. Gordon McLennon are holidaying with relatives in Auckland. Card Evening A very successful card evening was held in the Maimaru Hall last Monday week, organised by the hall committee. Mr. Dick .Berghan proved himself the best player in the gentlemen’s section, while Mrs. H. Matthews won the ladies’ prize. Consolation prizes went to Mr. Anderson Snr. and Mrs. Hazel Paul. The competition was won by a visitor. The outstanding feature of the evening was the hot cup of coffee and sandwiches. Another very successful 500 card evening was held on Monday of this week in the Maimaru Hall, and all who attended had a very pleasant and enjoyable evening. The first prizes went to Mr. and Mrs. Mac Johnson, while the consolation prizes were awarded Mrs. Birch and partner. The winner of the competition was Mrs. Susan Subritzky.
