HEREKINO NEWS
First Football Dance The Herekino United Football Club held their first dance on Wednesday last. Ngauma’s Regal Orchestra supplied the music for the evening and Mr. Ashmore carried out the duties of m.c. very capably. A large'crowd who’s numbers were swelled by the bus load from Kaitaia and from Pawarenga, danced late into the night. Mrs. C. Veza rendered for the company two songs which were well received. Mr. Ashmore was the winner of the competition, the prize being two cooked ducks. Personal Mr. A. Curie accompanied by his daughter Thelma and son Andrew, left for Auckland last Tuesday. They will later go to Te Awamutu. Mr. E. Dyer has leturned to his home in Carterton after staying with Mr. and Mrs. C. Bourke for a short holiday. Guests at the Herekino Hote' lately were Messrs. Mazae and Eliot of Whangarei, SarinseW of Auckland, Thompson of New Plymouth and Mr. Leatham who is relieving Mr. Bramble as Postmaster. Mr. and Mrs. C. Abel have had as their guest, Mr. Abel Senior of Takapuna. Mr. and Mrs. J. Collis (nee Mackenzie) are the proud parents of a second son.
