RETURNED SERVICES SOCIAL CLUB The members of the Awanui Returned Services Social Club decided on last Tuesday evening to entertain the ladies who have always assisted them in every way. The main part of the programme consisted of a bowls tournament and the ladies, once they became used to the run of the bowls showed rare skill at “rolling them up.” In fact, as a fitting conclusion to an enjoyable evening the ladies challenged the men t 0 a match and soundly beat them. Mr. J. Gill welcomed the visitors on behalf of the club and Mrs. Ron Vazey responded on the visitors’ behalf. The scores were as follows : Miss S. Blithe, Mrs. Rule, Mrs. Finlayson, G. Evans 5, defeated Mrs. L. Bray, Mrs. McMarne, T. Blithe and Finlayson 4 ; Miss M. Dragecivich, Mrs. T. Yates, Mrs. M. Richards, N. Smith 2, lost to Mrs. L. Johnson, Mrs. K. Hamblin, Mrs. Berghaa. L. Johnson 4 ; Miss A. Gill, Mrs. McMarne, Mrs. S. Shaw, A. Logan 8, defeated Miss Matthews, Mrs. R. Vazey, Mrs. A. Hutley, T. Yates, 0 ; Mrs. Finlayson, Mrs. Bray, S. G. Shaw, J.
