Wedding
FISHER EDWARDS The wedding took place at St. Albans’ Anglican Church, Auckland, on Saturday, December 7th, of Miss Alva Elizabeth Edwards, youngest daughter of the late Mrs. R. H. Edwards and Mr. R. H. Edwards of Victoria Valley, (Kaitaia, and Earle Raymond Fisher, only son of Mrs. Bussey of Onehunga. Rev. Mr. Greenwood officiated at the ceremony, and Mr. G. Hill played the wedding music. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her father, wore a lovely gown made in Queen Ann style of white georgette, featuring a panelled lace yoke and peplin, and a full skirt fashioned to form a long frilled train. Her full-length tulle veil embroidered with satin bows, was held in place by- a topknot of orange blossoms and a spray 0 f chaster daisies. She carred a bouquet of white roses and Christmas lilies. The bridesmaid, Miss Maud Povey, cousin of the bride, wore a gracefully cut frock of pink celanese crepe and a blue net halo held in place with a spray of pink carnations and blue cornflowers. Her bouquet was also of pink carnations and blue cornflowers. The brdegroom was attended by Mr. Dick Calian as bestman. The reception was held at the home of Mrs. Elsie Edwards, Kenneth Avenue, Sandringham. Mrs. Edwards received her guests, wearing a neat summerweight royal blue costume with navy accessories. Kaitaia Representative Marching Teams at Kaikohe Four Girls’ Marching teams will represent the Mangonui County at the Kaikohe Show tomorrow. Kaitaia teams number three, while the fourth team is from Pukepoto. This team comprises all Maori girls who have shown considerable promise in the last few weeks. The Kaitaia Voluntai*y Fire Brigade will also be sending down a number of members to compete in competitions. Good luck to all these representatives ! Rubbish Collection Residents are reminded that the next household rubbish collection will take place from 9 a.m. onwards on Monday next. All future collections will take place on the third Monday in the month.
