Takahue W.I.
The Takahue Women’s Institute held its December meeting in the Hall on Tuesday, Mrs. H. Sanders presiding over a small attendance. The roll call was “a breakfast recipe”.
Results of the months competitions were as follows; Child’s Xmas Gift — Mrs. Dixon 1, Mrs. Sanders 2; 6 Pikelets —Mrs. Dixon 1, Mrs. Rogers 2; Green Beans—Mrs. D. Kitchen; Flowers —Mrs. D. (Kitchen 1, Mrs. Rogers 2. Games were won by Mrs. Rogers, Mrs. 11. Sanders, Mrs. Dixon (2), Mrs. D. Kitchen and Mrs. Crene. The lucheon hostesses were Mesdames L. Dixon and Rogers The competitions for January will be: Marmalade, 2 hand-worked doyleys, collection of vegetables, slice of Xmas cake. The roll call will be “An idea for Interior Decoration.” The hostesses will be Mesdames Brydon, B. Wright and V. Evans.
First Aid Course Interested citizens attended the first lecture, in the first aid course being sponsored by the Mangonui Ambulance Association, on Tuesday evening. The lecturer was Dr. J. Webber. All those interested in taking this course are asked to contact Mr. J. Knox Secretary of the Association. Lectures will be given weekly on Tuesday evenings.
