Consolation prize winners were Mrs. Knightbridge, Mrs. P. Wilkinson and Mrs. Combs. Two competitions were conducted, Mrs. W. Thornton winning an attractive afternoon tea cloth, while Mrs. Crene was the other winner.
GIRLS’ MARCHING TEAMS iKaikohe will definitely be visited by the two Kaitaia Girls’ Marching teams on December 14, but arrangements for the visit of 'the Pukepoto team and the third Kaitaia team have yet to be finalised. Teams competing at Kaikohe will
not be marching for the Northland Marching Championship at present held by the Kaitaia A team but will be doing so for a different champonship. Comment on the Pukepoto team, at present beng trained by Basil Silva, has been extremely favourable, and the girls are very keen. The third Kai’taia team, the Kiwi Marching team, is being trained by Clive Geard and Bernie Bonnett, and they are showing considerable promise.
