Tennis Dance There was a fair attendance at the tennis dance held in the Town Hall on Saturday evening. Mrs. S. Welsh supplied the music and Mr. G. Wilson carried out the duties of m.c. Personal Mr. and Mrs. G. Eniight are the | proud parents of a daughter. Mrs. Ashley has been the guest of her daughter, Mrs. J. Mddleton. I N.H.B. AND G.A.C. DAY On Friday last the N.H.B. and G. Broadwood School Ist, Rotokakahi I School (potatoes) 2nd. CRICKET Mamari v. Tutekehua At Broadwood under ideal conditions Mamari suffered a first innings defeat to Tutekehua on Saturday. Play was of a very poor standard, especially the Mamari fielding. Mamari wen't to the wicket first and with Armstrong and Rogers scoring slowly had 23 on the board when Armstrong went to an lbw appeal. Wickets fell quickly after that ; 6 wickets were down for 30 and the side were all out for 61. E. Julian, 5 for 20. Tutekehua then came in and fared poorly until the eighth wicket stand added 36 runs, the side being out for 76. S. Mansbridge took 4 wickets for 18 runs and W.Armstrong 2 for 2. With two and a quarter hours to play Mamari went in to make runs and in an hour had 100 runs up for three wickets, Edwards 37 and Armstrong 37 not out. At this stage Mamari declared, leaving an hour and a quarter to dismiss Tutekehua. Tutekehua played for time and with one over to go had lost 8 wickets for 67 and at stumps were 9 for 67. S. Mansbridge took 5 for 21, and W. Armstrong 3 for 13. Results were : Mamari, Ist innings : 61 (O. Edwards 13, R. Hyde 11 not out, W. Armstrong 12). Bowling—E. Julian 5 for 20, E. Crane 2 for 16, F. Walker 2 for 10. Mamari, 2nd innings : 100 for 3 wickets declared (O. Edwards 37, W. Armstrong 37 not out, R. Hyde 11).. Bowling—E. Crane 1 for 35, E. Julian 2 for 55. Tutekehua, Ist innings : 76 (S. Smith 14, F. Creighton 14 not out). Bowling—S. Mansbridge 4 for 18, H. Irving 2 for 13, R. Hyde 1 for 20, W. Armstrong 2 for 2, J. McGrath 1 for 9. Tutekehua, 2nd innings : 67 for 9 wickets (G.
