RIFLE SHOOTING

The Kaitaia Defence Rifle Club had a good muster of members when the championship series was continued on Saturday with a double shoot at 300 yards. Weather conditions were good but the hot weather apparently had a bad effect on a large proportion of members’ rifles, the only good scores being those of R. Tracey and F. Sands inj their second shoot. R. Tracey with a total score of 93 won the Tracey Cup which is competed for monthly at different ranges. Scores were as follows :

Vital Statistics Figures for births, deaths and marriages for November, 1946, vary little from the figures for the same month last year. Sixteen births wen. regtered with Mr. R. Wright at the Kaitaia Courthouse last month, and the figure was the same for November, 1945. Deaths last month totalled three against two for the same period in 1945, and marriages totalled two as against four in November 1945.
