The A.O.F. Lodge, Pride of Awanui, held a meeting in their own hall in Awanui last Tuesday evening. The attendance was good, Chief Ranger Q. Cosson presiding. As this was the first regular meeting since the lodge re-opened, lodge business took up the greater part of the evening, but prospects look bright for the future running of the Lodge. After the business had been dispensed with the evening concluded with supper. NEW HIGH SCHOOL BUILDING In an endeavour to ensure that the new High School building will be available for occupation from the beginning of next year, the contractor has been instructed to complete the ceiling in Pinex in lieu of making any further delay by waiting for the arrival of plaster materials. It has been impressed on the Education Board by the Kaitaia School Committee, that the overcrowding at present being suffered makes imperative that every endeavour should be made to ensure that the new High School buildings be ready for occupation from the beginning of next year.
