TAKAHUE SOLDIERS HONOURED
The Takahue Soldiers Welfare Club organised a welcome to local soldiers home on furlough, Sgt. K. Rickit, Sgt. 0. Kitchen and Pte. M. Sanders. Sgt. Kitchen was unavoidably absent. Music was supplied by the Posinkovich orchestra with extras by Mrs. A. Curreen, and Mr. S. Yates. A monte carlo waltz was won by Mrs. N. Panther and partner, a statue waltz by Mrs. J. Yates and Mr. L. Yates and a spot waltz by Mrs. C. Wright and Mr. A. Jenkins. After supper Mr. J. Stewart, on behalf of the residents welcomed the boys, at the same time making Sgt. Rickit a presentation of a cheque as he had not been in the district before he left for overseas. Other speakers were Messrs. D. Kitchen, and H. Thompson. Replies were made by Messrs. Sanders, Rickit, Wilson, Coulter and Donaldson. Mr. J. Parker was M.C.
