Mangonui School Picnic and Sports

An Easter Monday Outing The annual picnic and sports of the Mangonui school was held at Cooper’s Beach on Easter Monday when both the parents and the children spent a happy day. The cup for the most points went to Pauline Dibble with 8 points, and Jean McKay, Winston Wrathall and George Berghan were runners up with 7 points each. EASTER MONDAY DANCE AT MANGONUI After the Mangonui school picnic and sports, the adults finished up the day at a most enjoyable dance in the hall. Voluntary music was given by Mesdames Anderson, McDonald and Smith, and Miss M. Wrathall and Messrs. J. Smith and K. Ashdown, and Mr. Sonny Wrathall has charge of the floor arrangements. A competition was won by Miss P. Williams. The pi’oceeds are to go to the fund to provide a wireless set for the school.
