Women’s Institute.

ANNUAL MEETING OF TE PUHI WOMEN’S INSTITUTE The annual meeting of the Te Puhi Women’s Institute was held last Thursday when the following officers were elected: Piesident—Mrs. A. Tracey (i-e-el-ected); Vice-President Mrs. W. Dawson; Secretary and Treasui-er— Mrs. E. Buckingham ( re-elected ) ; Committee—Mesdames A. Tracey, W. Dawson, E. Buckingham, R. Edwards, and D. Tracey. Mrs. E. Buckingham was the winner of the shield for the month in the seniors, and there were no entries from the juniors. Something for nothing was won by Mrs. D. Tracey. Competitions were won by Mesdames W- Dawson, A. Edwards and A. Tracey. Competitions for the month were: an article made from scraps—Mesdames R. Edwards 1, A. Tracey and E. Buckingham 2 ; best potato Mrs. E. Buckingham 1, W. Dawson 2; piece of chocolate sponge—Mrs. E. Buckingham 1, Mrs. W. Dawson 2. The singing of the National Anthem brought the meeting to a close.

TE PUHI DANCE A dance was held in the Te Puhi hall last Satui-day. Music was supplied by Messrs. L. Ramsey and H. Switzer with extras by Mrs. F. Thompson and Miss K. Parker. The monte carlo was won by Miss O. Gardiner and Mr. R. White. Supper was served by the Institute ladies.
