Mr. J. May has left on a holiday trip to Australia. Mr. Laurence Tracey left on Tuesday for Auckland. Miss D. Puckey of Kaitaia, is at present in Auckland. Mr. Harold Subritzky of Awanui, was in Auckland this week. Mr. and Mrs. C. S. Puckey of Kaitaia left on Monday for Auckland. Mr. R. T. Stitt, postmaster at Awanui, is away on his annual leave. Mrs. T. Fuller left Awanui this week for a short visit to Auckland. Mr. and Mrs. L. Peace of Kaitaia leave on Monday for a week’s visit to Auckland. Mr. R. Barlow, clerk of the Kaitaia court, is away south on his annual leave. Mrs. T. A. Maclean of New Plymouth is visiting Kaitaia, being the guest of her sister, Mrs. A. Hay. Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Woolley of Auckland are visiting Kaitaia as the guests of Mr. and Mrs. K. A. Knight. Mrs. H. H. Wilkinson, Mrs. Jesse May and Mrs. W. H. Maria have left Kaitaia for a holiday trip to Australia. Mr. A. McGruer and Mr. D. Gallagher of Kaitaia, leave this week for Wellington where they have secured positions with General Motors. Mr. Laurence Grey of Wellsford is spending a fortnight’s holiday with his aunt, Mrs. A. White, of Victoria Valley. Mr. J. W. Hoskin, chairman of the Oruru Dairy Company, returned this week from a business trip to Wellington. Mr. C. B. Miehie, chairman of the Kaitaia Dairy Company, returns at the end of this week from a business trip south. Mr. and Mrs. T. Satterthwaite are

visiting the district and are the guests of Mrs. Satterthwaite’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. White of Victoria Valley.

Mr. George Tyler of Awanui, who is giving- up business, leaves shortly on a trip to England, and on his return to this country will settle in Wanganui.

Mr. and Mrs. F. Day of the Waikato are the guests of Mr. and Mrs. T. Maugham of Pamapuria. Mr. Day is the noted Jersey breeder, being the owner of the Pencarrow herd.

Mr. O. Kitchen, lately of the staff of the Kaitaia branch of the Farmers’ Co-op, has left to take up a position with the Te Aroha bi’anch of the Farmers’ Auctioneering Coy. MR. O. KITCHEN FAREWELLED Prior to his departure from Kaitaia to take up a position in the Waikato, Mr. O. Kitchen was farewelled last Saturday evening when members of the staff of the Kaitaia branch of the Farmers’ Co-op, where Mr. Kitchen has been for many years, and his many friends in Kaitaia, gathered. Mr. S. W. Turley, manager of the Farmers’, on behalf of the staff, presented the guest of the evening with a tangible expression of their goodwill. AWANUI FAREWELLS MR. AND MRS. G. TYLER The people of Awanui turned out in force last Friday evening to bid farewell to Mr. and Mrs. G. Tyler who, after many years residence at Awanui, during which they have made a wide circle of friends, are now leaving to make their future home in Wanganui. The evening took the form of a dance to music provided by a local orchestra, with Mr. T. Blythe in control of the floor arrangements. Just before the adjournment to allow of doing justice to the excellent supper that the ladies had pi’ovided, occasion was taken to present the guests of the evening with suitable mementos from their many Awanui friends. In speaking on behalf of the people of the district, Messrs. E. R. Bird, W. Rose and T. Blythe made reference to the regret of these friends at the departure of Mr. and Mx-s. Tyler from Awanui, and extended to them the best wishes for their futui-e happiness. Mr. Tyler suitably responded on behalf of Mrs. Tyler and himself.
