Kaitaia School Picnic
Outing held on Beach The Kaitaia D.H. School’s annual picnic was held at Ahipara Beach yesterday and favoured with fine weather conditions, the children, and adults also, enjoyed a splendid day’s outing. As on previous picnic days, the shops in Kaitaia closed early and the majority of the residents joined with the children in their day at the beach. Through the efforts of the newlyfunned Kaitaia Retailers’ Association, the business firms in the town had contributed £l2 15/- in cash and goods for the children, and the parents had contributed over £5, so that the finances for this year were on a sound basis.
