OBJECTION TO RE-ALLOCATION OF HEAVY TRAFFIC FEES
Strong objection was taken by the Council to the resolution passed at the conference of delegates from the four Northern counties and the Kaitaia and Kaikohe town districts held at Ohaeawai on the 16th inst., that the highways traffic fees be pooled and allocated to each district on a highways mileage basis, and the following resoution was carried : “That the Bay of Islands County Council be informed that this Council cannot agree to the proposed allocation of heavy traffic fees as suggested at the recent conference of local bodies held at Ohaeawai on the 16th inst.”
