Personal Mrs. W. H. Lane, of Kaeo, who attended the annual Dominion conference of the W.D.F.U. held in Wellington from July 16 to 20, returned to her home this week. Mrs. Lane has been elected one of the Dominion vice-presidents. Basketball Mangonui travelled to Totara North on Saturday and played several matches. The various results were as follows : Mangonui v. Totara North (first match), 17 all. Mangonui v. Totara North (second match), 7-9. 6-a-side, Mangonui v. Totara, 2-7. Maori team v. Totara, 7-6. Maori team v. Mangonui, 3-1. A team selected from the male portion of the bystanders, captained by P. D. Lane, defeated the girls team by 9 goals to 8 after a strenuous tussle. Miss E. Stell, as referee, controlled this scientific exhibition. The Totara North girls provided a delicious afternoon tea. Totara North Table Tennis Club A table tennis club has oeen formed at Totara North and the following ofTcers have been elect;.;! : Patron —Mr. Saies Srr ; President --Mr. P, Metcalfe ; Vice-Presidents— Messrs. G. Johansen and F. Sullivan ; Secretary and Treasurer Mr. P. Johansen ; Auditor Mr. A. Sanderson ; Committee—Messrs. W. Saies, Jnr., J. James, M. English. The club nights have been fixed for Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Last Saturday Kahoe defeated Totara by one game.
