Wedding of Miss Jessie Stewart

St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church Auckland, was the scene of a very pretty wedding on January 3rd, when Jessie Ferguson, youngest daughter of Mrs. and the late Mr. Kenneth Stewart, of Glasgow Terrace, Auckland, was married to lan Ferguson, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles McKinnon of Kaitaia. The church was tastefully decoratedwith hydrangeas, sweetpeas and carnations, by friends of the bride. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Ivo Bertram, M.A., and the wedding music was played by Mr. E. S. Craston, Mus. Bac. The bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr. Hedley Stewart, was prettily gowned in ivory satin beaute, simply fashioned with cowl sleeves and flared skirt forming a train, over which fell a beautiful embroidered tulle veil, being attached to the head with orange blossoms. She carried a sheaf of St. Joseph s lilies and maiden hair fern. In attendance as bridesmaids were her sister, Miss Greta Stewart, and Miss Olive Jewell both of whom were dressed in ash faille with hats and shoes to match. They carried bouquets of pink carnations, sweet peas, cornflowers and asparagus. The bridegroom was attended by his brother, Mr. Bruce McKinnon, as best man, and Mr. Murdock McLeod as groomsman. Following the ceremony a reception was held at the Domain Kiosk, where the guests were received by the bride’s mother, who was wearing a black and -white ensemble of crinkle crepe, with hat to tone. She carried a posy of red carnations, sweet peas and maiden hair fern. Mrs. McKinnon, mother of the bridegroom, wore a frock of lido blue silk with hat to match, and carried a posy of dark red gladioli, sweet peas, gaillardia and maiden hair fern.
