Kaitaia D. H. School’s End of Year

The breaking-up ceremony of the Kaitaia District High School, held on Wednesday took the form of impromptu concerts held in the various class-rooms, and prize-giving for school work in the Secondary Rooms. The prizes, won at the sports, in the event, for children under the ages of 8, 9 and 10 years were also presented by the headmaster, but the certificates for the other events, are to be distributed after-the school re-assembles next year. Prizes were awarded as follows to the High School pupils :

Ist in Form V. and Ist in French— Gwenneth Johnston; Ist in Form IV. and Ist in French —Joe Urlich ; Ist in Form lll.—Olga Thornton, 2nd in Form JII —Jack Buckle. (This pupil was a very close second to Olga Thornton ;) Ist French in Form 111. —Zelda Johnston.

Pupils in the various class-rooms pre sented their respective teachers with Christmas boxes, as tokens of the high esteem in which they held them and of the good feeling existing between the scholars and the teaching staff of the School.
