Girl’s Club Fair

A Christmas Fair which deserved the success it decidedly attained, was held in the Parish Hall, Kaitaia, on Wednesday last, having been organised by the Fleur de Lys Club, with the purpose of aiding the Anglican Church funds. This noble object was fully realized, the substantial sum of £ls nett, being received. Very brisk business was done by tlie stall holders during the day and that, evening. The vendors in charge of the following stalls were : Cake Stall—Mrs. Woodall. Sweet Stall—Misses A. Kerr and E. Farrimond. Vegetable Stall—Mesdames Bloomfield and Holder. Misses John Archibald and Misses A. Bell and J. Matthews controlled the supper arrangements, while the Bran Tub, Fish Pond and Lucky Envelope Departments were supervised by Misses D. and E. Puckey. The results of the competitions which were under the control of Misses C. Holder and A. Bell were as follows : Christmas Cake—Miss C. Holder. Turkey—Mr. N. Gurr. Smelling Competition—Miss C. Holder Sucking Pig—Mr. T. Salvair. Weight guessing of fowl—Mr. W. Dyer. Nail-driving—Mr. W. Dyer. The evening was pleasantly passed in various games and competitions.
