AUCKLAND WOOL SALE.
The N.A. Farmers' Co-op. report that at the Auckland wool sale last week the prices for fine wools were on a par with the previous sale but crossbred was slightly easier. A line of four bales of fine wool from Mr. L.D.Bourke of Herekino, made and another line of seven bales_from the same was sold at 7J4d.
Sifting of the Court at Kaitaia A sitting of the Magistrate’s Court was held at Kaitaia last Friday before Mr. G. N. Morris S.M. For failing to pay the unemployment levy, J. Rowe of Victoria Valley, was convicted and fined £2 and costs 12/-. Other cases that came up before the Magistrate were adjourned. The judgement in a civil case that was heard at last month's court was again reserved. Before Messrs. J. T. B. Taaffe and F. B, Rowe Js.P. on Monday of this week, Wehi Walker, for the theft of £5, the property of G. Bonnett, was convicted and sentenced to 14 days imprisonment and ordered to make restitution of the sum stolen.
It was stated at a meeting of the North Taranaki Farmers’ Union thai cattle were starting to eat ragwori with disastrous results.
