Mangonui
Wedding of Mr. Stanley Harris Mr. Stanley R. Harris, second son of Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Harris, of Mangonui, was married to Joyce, the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. I. Harkness, of Waiuku, on November 21st at Holy Trinity Church, Waiuku. The church was prettily decorated by girl friends of the bride and there was a crowded congregation. The Rev. R. Connolly performed the ceremony. The bride was gowned in white satin, the full ground length skirt falling in graceful folds from the closely fitting bodice. Her veil of Honiton lace, which was held in place at the back of the head by a circle of orange blossoms, formed the train. A sheaf of St. Joseph lilies made a charming finish. Her attendants were attired alike in daffodil chiffon frocks, made with draped bodices and circular flounced skirts. They wore large daffodil straw hats bandeaued with tiny flowers and carried sheaves of. blue delphiniums. There were over a hundred guests at the wedding reception, held in a large marquee at the home of the bride’s parents, “Ascalon,” Waiuku, when the usual toasts were honoured. The bride’s travelling dress was a russet brown crepe-de-chine costume and a brown hat turned off the face with a cluster of cream roses. The honeymoon was spent at Rotorua and Taupo.
