A wedding of local interest was celebrated in Masterton on Saturday April 6th. the contracting parties being Miss Grace Pond of Masterton and Rev. Reginald Grice of Mangonui. The church was beautifully decorated by friends of the bride who entered the- church on the arm of her brother Mr Elvery Pond, attired in an ivory crepe de chine and, radium lace frock and a beautiful tulle embroidered wedding veil. 'lhe bride was attended by M iss Hilda Wood ot Hamilton who wore a dainty pink crepe de chine and silver lace frock. Both the bride and bridesmaid carried beautiful shower bouquets. Little Glen Daysh of Masterton and Dorothv Willis of Nelson made sweet little flower girls, and wore nile green and mauve petal frocks, with tulle and petal caps. They each carried a basket tastefully deqorated with flowers in autumn-shades. Mr Arthur Bates Y.M.C.A. Secretary of Masterton ably carried out the duties of best man.
The officiating ministers were Rev. E. O. Blamies and Rev. S. Keen. After the ceremony a quiet wedding breakfast was held at Mrs W Welch’s an aunt of the bride, those present being just the bridal party and immediate relatives. The haopy couple left, anyd showers of Confettii, for the North, by car.
