Kaimaumau Domain
Visit By Board Members Tree Planting Expedition A visit of members of the Kaimaumau Domain Board was paid to the section set apart for the domain on Thursday last. The domain site is situated at the entrance of the harbour, and those who made the trip were Messrs W R Gngg, H B Matthews, F Holder, A Wilkinson, Stan Holder, Theo Matthews and F B Rowe.
Mr Matthews made the visit the occasion for the planting of a number of pine trees in the domain, he having provided a number in order that each member of the party might plant one. Mr F Holder supervised the planting, and generally advised the company what to do to make the trees grow as they would otherwise not grow. The members ot the expedition were very much impressed with the site for the domain, and predict that it will become a very popular place when once the trees make growth, and afford people shelter in fair weather and in foul.
After the tree-planting, the party returned to Mr Holder’s launch for lunch, and then they went for a run outside the Pleads where they did some fishing, and met with considerable success, catching a good many schnapper and some kahawai.
