Inward passengers by the Apanui on Monday were Messrs Atkinson, E. Evans * jnr., W. Woolfe, Misses W illiamson ami K.Mastets. Outward on Tuesday Messrs D. E. Stacey, Donovan, Rudge, Williams, and N. and V. Begovich. Inward passengers by the Clansman last evening wereMesdamcs Gurr, Baker and child, Matthews and child, Messrs McLeod, Head, Doolan, Baker, Krlsall. Houston, Collins, Valentine, Bernie, Jackson, Burnett, V. H, Reed, and Masters Harrison and Rowe. Mr. L. Lecoustre has been re-elected chairman of the Herekino Dairy Co. Mr. Collins, of the Government Valuation Dept is in Kaitaia in connection with • the Commission to adjust affairs between the town and county. Miss V. Logan, who spent an extended holiday with her parents in Kaitaia, returned to Dunedin last week. Friends of Mrs. Gracie, Pukepoto, will be glad to learn that she is progressing . favourably after her operation in the Mangonui Hospital. Passengers booked for the Clansman to-night on the outward trip include Misses Coffin (2), Munro, Gregory, Vyner, Rice, | Rochfort, Smith (3), Glevn Muir, Mesd- ' ames jGoodson, Johnson, C. W, Harr's, O’Gorman, Harper, Messrs Hall, Chignell, Goodson, McAdam, Valentine, Wood, C. W l H. Smith, Burnett and Jackson. Mr. W. Walker, who has been headmaster of the Kaitaia School since last November, gives up control to-day. Mr. Walker takes charge of the Motumaoho School (Waikato) after .he holidays. Mr. H. J. Sweeney, who accompanied the Bay of Islands delegates to the F. U. Dominion Conference at Wellington has now returned to Rawene. The death took place at-Nelson on July 30th of Mr. Francis Holder at the age of 85 years. Mr. Fred Holder, of Kaitaia, is a son.
