WIND AND RAIN.
ROADS FLOODED A very heavy rain slorm occurred on all parts of the North yeslerday, the wind reaching hurricane force. At Fairburn and Oruru the rain was particularly heavy the road at Oruru being under water early in the day, necessitating the return of Kaitaia cars en route for Mangonui to meet the Clansman, which however, did not reach port until 8 o’clock this morning being delayed by heavy weather on the coast. There was, and still is, an abundance of water about Commerce St„ and the necessity for a channel to take this storm wa ■ er from the back of buildings on the Western side was further emphasised.
