WAIPAPA-OKAIHAU HOAD.
A petition is at present in circulation for signatures, asking the Minister of Public Works to open for traffic as a road between Waipapa and Okaihau such portion of the Kauri Timber Company's abandoned railroad as wifi serve to connect these two places. The petition points out that such a connection with the railhead is of essential importance to the district, that the road is already formed, is of a good grade, and is largely metalled, and that it will open up much Crawn and private land not at present roaded.
