EXECUTIVE MEETING. At a meeting of the Executive held on November nth, the following business was transacted That the secretary institute enquiries as to the burial and place of burial of the late Paddy Farrell, a returned soldier who recently died at the Mangonui Hospital, with a view to the R.S.A. having his grave cared for. It was resolved to make the necessary arrangements to form the Herekino Branch on the 26th. That Mr. Vernon Reed be written to requesting him to notify Association of result of Takahue Settlers’ petition which went before the House some time ago. y BRANCH AT HOUHORA. Messrs C. E. Scott (Executive Mangonui R.S.A.) and Geo. Rickard (secretary) journeyed to Houhora on Saturday, sth November, for the purpose of forming a branch of the Association. At a meeting held that evening it was unanimously carried, thaWa branch be formed. Mr. W. J. Tynan was elected chairman, and Mr. Chas. McManus secretary. It was decided to call a meeting at a later date to appoint executive. The branch will comprise from 25 to 30 members. DEATHS OF EX-SERVICE MEN. Headquarters of the R.S.A. has received notices of the deaths of thirteen ex-service men during the month of October. SOLDIERS’ PENSIONS. At the meetings held in connection with the Mangonui County Memorial Club at Kaitaia,' Awanui, Mangonui, Peria, Fairburns, Victoria Valley, Takahue and Houhora, the resolution suggested by Mr. Allen Bell, urging the member for the District, and. the Prime Minister to support the Returned Soldiers’ Association in their claim that all permanently disabled men suffering over fifty per cent, disability have their pensions increased by 75 per cent., was carried without a dissentient voice. PAYMENTS AND CONCESSIONS. (Continued). In our issue of October 13th we gave briefly a few of the payments and concessions granted to Returned Soldiers, those dealt with relating to the Defence and Education Departments. We now continue the list as referring to other Departments. Under the heading Government Life Insurance appears the following : If a soldier wishes to insure his life any loading of premium on account of impaired health occasioned by service will be paid by the Government, provided that

(a) The insurance is effected through the Government Life Insurance Department.

(b) The sum does not exceed £SOO. (c) The soldier makes application on or before December 31st, 1921. (d) The soldier has paid the ordinary premium.
