VICTORIA VALLEY.

(From a Correipondsnt.) On Saturday the 3rd init. an indignation meeting wax held in the School Bt Victoria Velley, the convener being Mr. J. Daweon. On the motion of Mr. H. Kitchen, leconded by Mr. F. White, the chair wax taken by Mr. J. Paton. The chairman announced that the object of the meeting wax to consider the best method of annihilating the individual who furnished the report of the two picnics and “ wet ” dance, held on the 29th December which, according to hix idea ahould have been “ drier.” After a coniiderable amount of discussion it was proposed by Mr. Dawson, seconded by Mr. H. Panther, that this individual be debarred frem all social function! held in Victoria Valley for the term of three years; as an amendment, Mr, W. Stanton moved that, if the individual would publicly apologise, he would once more be looked en as a respected member of the community, providing he will promise never more to write an account of a Victoria Valley picnic, whether it be “ wet ” or “dry.” Mr. J. Edwards seconded the amendment, which was carried by 23 votes to 18, tha ladies with their usual modesty refraining from voting. At the conclusion of the meeting, a vary hearty vote ef thanks was accorded Mr. W. Stanton, by acclamation, for the noble manner he had upheld the good name of the Victoriaitea.
