Obituary.
A very well known resident of the Far North passed to the Great Beyond on Friday evening last in the person of Mrs. Yates, relict of the late Samuel Yates, of Parengarenga. No details are available but we understand that, although the deceased lady had been ailing for some time, the end came somewhat unexpectedly. Mrs. Yates was about fiftyeight years of age, and her husband predeceased her by some nine or ten years. The members of the family, who will have the sympathy of a very wide circle of friends, are Mrs. Crane (wife of Mr. Crans, manager of the Auckland Farmers’ Union, Ltd.); Mrs. Dorling (wife of Captain Dorling, of the s.s. Claymore); Mrs. Walter Evans (of Awanui); Mrs. Samuels (of Parengarenga); Miss Joey Yates (who is at present in England with Mrs. Abbot, of Auckland); Mr. Gus. Yates (of Parengarenga); Mr. Lance Yates (who served in the Boer War); and Mr, Sinclair Yates. The deceased lady was one of the Murray family which inoludes Messrs. Glass and Peter Murray and Mrs. H, Povey, Mrs, Timothy Busby and Mrs, W. Peter.
The funeral took plaoe at Parengarenga on Sunday.
