The Great Northern A. and I. Show.
There was a large and representative meeting in the Waipapakauri hall on Saturday afternoon last. Mr. Joseph Evans, sen., presided. It was decided to hold an annual general show at Waipapakauri, to be called the Great Northern Agricultural and Industrial Show. Mr. Fred. Russell was appointed to act as Secretary and the following were elected as a committee : Parengarenga : Messrs. Gus Yates and West Hill. Houhora : Messrs. F. Urwin, sen., A. W. Cheeseman and James Tynan. Waiharara : Messrs. W. Steed, F. J. Hagger and Dickinson. Herekino : Messrs. P. Heath, Wi Hobson and P. Hobson. Ahipara: Messrs. J. N. Berghan, T. S. Houston and Stewart. Awanui: Messrs. H. L. Claudet, Joe Smith, E. Denny, L. Subritzky and I. Williamson. Mangatete : Messrs. A. FI. Long, G. R. Atkinson, C. W. Cooper and F. Spanhake. Kaitaia : Messrs. R, Brent and E. Clem. Matthews. Waipapakauri : Messrs. J. Evans, sen., Thos. Richards, F. Flirst, G. Whale, B. Walters, Geo. Evans and F. Russell. The Committee are to meet at Waipapakauri on Saturday afternoon, 27th instant, at 2.30, to appoint officers, compile the schedule, 'arrange re prizes, regulations and member’s fee, to fix the dale of the Show day and to transact all sundry business necessary therewith.
