IT STILL RAINED.
Admittedly, this is an age qf miracles, but there are still a few things which we cannot accomplish. -To avert the inevitable is one.
The public were pouring out qf the Hall after a very popular concert, and the rain was pouring down in t.qrrents. A lady and gentleman came out of the door without umbrellas or water-proofs.
“Why George," said the lady,, “it’s raining !” “So I see," said George calmly* “Well, what shall we do ?"
“I rather fancy we shall have to let it rain," said the matter-of-fact husband.
Exasperated by the disaster awaiting her garments, the lady exclaimed, excitedly : “Why, George, how van we, when I have on this lijht dress and hat ?"
And, der; ite the lh:ht dress and hat, it co Hinued to rain, while the bystanders smiled.
