Commercial Intelligence. WESTPORT.— May 8.

During the week we have to record a steady trade with the various diggings, and prices well maintained. The arrival of the Mary, from Melbourne, has replenished our rather scanty stocks. Hart's Adelaide flour is now selling at from £18 to £18 10s. ; Provincial at £16 to £18. Oats are scarce and worth 4s. 6d. for good samples. Melbourne chaff, £17 10s. ; Provincial, £15. Bran may now be quoted at £10 for good samples. Potatoes are in full supply at £6. Butter is scarce, and for prime samples Is. 3d. and Is. 4d. are freely obtained ; inferior quality is unsaleable. Our stocks of hams and bacon are light, and, owing to recent advices, prices have considerably advanced. Prime samples of Coey's or Sinclair's hams are now worth Is. sd. to Is. 6d. ; bacon, Is. 3d. to Is. 4d. Colonial cheese, of which there is a good supply expected per Beautiful Star, we quote at from 9fcd. to lOd.
