THE ROAD TO SCHOOL
You would like our road to school, Alice. It is a bush track and it goes up a hill. On either side is heavy bush with supplejack vines hanging on the trees. And there are birds everywhere. The little bush robins fly in front of us. We turn round the last corner, and there is our school. We look right down on the power house and the roofs of the houses. —Mavis Thurston, Cobb River.
