CLARRIE GORDON BEATS JOE GRANT Sydney, Nov., 29. Clarrie Gordon (9st ll£lbs) of New Zealand, outpointed Joe Grant (9st ll£lbs) at the stadium. Repeating his tactics of a week ago when he drew with Hall, Gordon always endeavoured to drive his opponent back. He was ordered to release Grant in every round as he held him 0.. the ropes. The greater part of Gordon’s attack was while he had Grant in this position, hammering at Grant’s body. Grant in the open outboxed Gordon but he had few opportunities and was also slow to move towards his opponent. Gordon won by his aggressiveness in the closing rounds when he swung rights on Grant who seemed to have become weary.
