MOUTERE W.D.F.U.
The Moutere W.D. celebrated its 14th birthday party recently when a pleasant evening was enjoyed by all. The programme which was organised by Mrs Johnston, consisted of items, competitions, dancing and a piano duet by Mrs Clouston and Miss Drogemuller. Mr and Mrs Graham played a guitar duet and Mr Pahl in extending a welcome, especially to and Mr Best sang action songs. The president, Mrs T. Drogemuller, members from other branches, expressed pleasure that so many had attended. Mrs Beuke spoke on the activities of th e Rest Home. The birthday cake was lit and cut by members from sister branches. Congratulations were received from neighbouring branches and also from the Farmers’ Union and Young Farmers’ Club. All expressed their thanks for an enjoyable evening. The music was supplied by Mr and Mrs Drogemuller. The results of the competitions for the October meeting were: 6 Iceland poppies, Mrs K. Thomas 1, Mrs Nuttall 2; 6 best flowering shrubs, Mrs Johnston 1, Mrs Drogemuller and Mrs J. Teece (equal) 2, Mrs Beuke 3; article from 1 yard material, Mrs Nuttall and Mrs Drogemuller (equal) 1, Mrs Hore 2, Mrs Rawlinson 3.
