State: Next week-end. Bob Hope in “The Princess and the Pirate,” in technicolour, with Virginia Mavo, Walter Brennan and Victor McLaglen. Hope is said to give the funniest performance of his career as the boastful Sylvester The Great who delights in bloodcurdling threats of what he would do to a pirate if he ever met one, but when the ferocious Hook and his band capture the vessel on which Sylvester and the runaway Princess Margaret are voyaging to Jamaica, the actor's courage rapidly evaporates. Thenceforward Sylvester and Margaret find themselves in plenty of hot water until the surprise ending. Majestic: To-night and to-morrow, “Whispering Footsteps” (a thriller) and “Atlantic City” (a musical comedy). Starting on Saturday. “Thirty Seconds Over i Tokyo.” The week-end attraction. w'hich will be screened till Tuesday night, features Spencer Tracy. Van Johnson, Robert l Walker and Phyllis Thaxter in a story of love and flying and of the famous, first air attack on the Japanese capital.
