N.Z. NATIONAL PARTY
NELSON JUNIOR BRANCH
At a meeting held recently in the newly acquired National Party Club rooms in Hardy street Mr E. N. Pryor, the junior branch organiser, gave on interesting address and outlined the activities of some other clubs function, ing in the Dominion. Suggestions were also made by Mr Pryor concerning future activities of the club. The latter part of the evening was taken up- by a lantern lecture by Mr J. Muggeridge of the Cawthron Institute together with Mrs Muggeridge, who assisted with the lantern slides. The talk, which was enthusiastically received by the 50 members present, concerned a trip made by Mr Muggeridge through a great part of Europe iD search of means of control oi the commonly known diamond-backed moth. Votes of thanks were passed to Mr Pryor and Mr and Mrs Muggeridge respectively on the motion of Mr Phil Clark and Miss J. Pilcher. Visitors present included Mr M. L. Macduff, organiser of the Nelson electorate, and Mr H. Pitts-Brown, electorate chairman. Supper was served by the lady members of the committee at the conclusion of the evening. Future activities of the club were dis. cursed, the outstanding feature being an organised trip to the Blenheim junior branch at its request. It is hoped that in the near future a return trip will be made by the Blenheim junior branch.
