OBITUARY
MRS MARY JANE PRICE The oldest resident oi Wairoea West, Mrs Mary Jane Price, died in the Nelson Hospital early yesterday morning at the age of 85. She had maintained fairly good health until about thrue weeks ago and used to come to towfip on her own quite frequently. The late Mrs Price was a daughter of Mr and Mrs Samuel Millard, settlers in Waimea West. About #5 years ago she married Mr Joseph Price, the village blacksmith and. arf a young bride, moved into the house on i the main road. Waimea West, where she has lived ever since. She had««*4i , remarkably good memory which HEk . able to reach back into the days of the Waimeas and bring fovbh ' a store of interesting and amusJSg i anecdotes. J Her husband died some years age • The late Mrs Price leaves a son, 3tr j Alfred Price, of Nelson, and sev£QP I grandchildren, most of whom are settled in Waimea West. One son, Wallace, was killed in action in the last war and one of her grandsons is serving in this war.
