“IT’S YOUR DUTY”
fTo the Editor! Sir, —The Victory Loan will soon close and before it does Nelson must fill its quota. It is up to all of us to do our best. I wonder whether we ever count our blessings. One way to assess the value of the blessings we enjoy in this “God’s own country” is to look at the rest of the world. It will help us to place a proper value on . things we are in danger of forgetting we possess. Do we prize the blessings VE-Day brought to the world? If we do, let us show our appreciation by investing in the Victory Loan. It’s the least we can do. If you could only realise the hell our boys have gone through so that we can live in comparative luxury, you would transfer your Post Office Savings accounts to National Savings immediately. The needs of our soldiers, sailors and airmen are great. The least we comfortable civilians can do is to contribute liberal - ly Sit down now and sign the transfer form or go to the Post Office and transfer at least 50 per cent, of your money to National Savings. Nelson must fill its quota. It's our duty. It’s your duty. It's a good investment too. Count your blessings—no bombs, no sleepless nights, plenty to eat and drink. Everything so peaceful spd pleasant. You are only asked, to lend your money and it's up to you—show that Nelson can do it.—l am, etc., WALTER BLACK, JVLL.C. Nelson, 11th June.
