ATTLEE AND AUSTRALIA
OPPOSITION WANTS REPLY Canberra. June 8 A question by the Deputy-Leader of the Opposition. Mr Harrison, referring to an election broadcast bv the Leader of the British Labour Party. Mr C R. Attlee, was ruled cut of order in the Federal House of Representatives. Mr Attlee had said: “Mr Churchill has forgot.en that Australia and New Zealand have had Socialist Governments for years, to the great benefits of their peonies.” Mr Harrison asked the Acting-Prime Minister. Mr Chifley. +n arrange a press announcement to the leadine English newspapers stating that Soeiahst Governments had been the exception rather than the rule in Australia and that Australians generally were gravely apprehensive about the Socialistic policy of the present Fr>r?/-rai Government. k The Speaker. Mr Rosevear. said Mr Harrison had introduced debate into the question and ruled it out of order.
