THE STAMP CLUB
(Conducted by the Stamp Man) Dear Beys and Girls, The first issue of stamps for the British Central Africa Protectorate was made in 1891 by overprinting the issues , of the British South Africa Company, with the large capitals of “8.C.A.” In. 1894 a proper set of stamps was design- ; ed and issued (as shown in the illustra- , tion below). The design is a shield -held on an outspread map of Africa by two negroes, one of whom carries a pick and the other a shovel, while above, as a crest, is a coffee tree in full bearing. In 1907, the territory of British Central Africa was changed to that of Nyasaland, and stamps issued -si.h.P.e then have borne that name.— Your friend, # THE STAMP MAN. TfoMtk y«u for Stamps: E.J.C., Nelson; GloHa Schwass, Richmond.
