PRICE OF DENTURES

\ NO SCALE OF CHARGES * The price of dentures was in dispute in the Magistrate's Court yesterday afternoon in the case J. A. Adams (Mr M. Ott) v. W. B. North (Mr G. Samuel). Plaintiff claimed three guineas, balance ewing on upper and lower dentures made for the defendant. Plaintiff said that his price, as agreed to by defendant. was 20 guineas, but only 17 guineas had been paid. Defendant claimed that he had not agreed to the price of 20 guineas and considered it excessive. Evidence was given by William O. Shain, dental surgeon, that his fee for dentures was 16 guineas. There was no scale of charges for such work set by the Dental Association. He did not think that 17 guineas was too low for the work. The Magistrate, Mr T. E. Maunsell, said that if there had been a scale of fees he would have felt bound by it, but there was no such scale. Plaintiff, ’ was entitled to recover the full amount of fees.
