ON THE LOAN FRONT

“Hurry, nelsonians:" Speaking over the qir from Wellington the Victory Loan Reporter, in urging the people of Nelson District to hurry with their investments, pointed out that we # are not doing as well as in previous loans. Mr C. Milner, chairman of the Nelson Executive, expressed his reactions to the statement in this way. He said, “Nelson must take notice. Southland, after winning both major banners in the last Victory Loan, is again near to heading the list. What one district can do surely Nelson is capable of. Our reputation is at stake. Come on, Nelsonians. As that banner across Trafalgar street has it—‘Put Nelson on Top!’ ” Upper Moutere’s objective is £20.500, but the chairman there, Mr F. E. Nottage, has indicated in a letter to the District Executive that although their territory is widespread, embracing as it does Neudorf, Braeburn. Lower and Upper Moutere, Mariri, Tasman, Mapua and Tasman, the committee will cover every yard of it. Th e district committee urge Upper Moutere district residents to support their energetic band of workers and help the nation to final victory. Barometer Percentages

J. Southcombe, when commenting on the figures, “and it is refreshing to see a new name at the head of the list. Carry on, Richmond, and make this your loan.” £8 in Prizes Attention is drawn to an advertisement appearing elsewhere in this issue giving details of the Victory Loan advertisement-writing competition which closes on Monday next.
