AIR FORCE TENNIS TOURNAMENT

[To the Editor] Sir, —May I. as a player. express every appreciation of the Air Force Easter tennis tournament. lam quite sure that not only other players, but the onlookers, as well as all tennis enthusiasts, will be pleased to join with me in praise of the excellent way in which the tournament and every thing connected with it was carried out. Whether the tournament was run on championship lines or not is immaterial, the main factor being the spirit in which the games were played and the encouragement given to all players, especially the juniors, and the enjoyment of playing the game for the game's sake. The tournament spirit was well to the fore, winner and loser enjoying their matches equally well. May I also thank the Commanding Officer, Wing Commander A. T. Giles for allowing this splendid tournament to be held on 1' station and also Flying Officer Ferkins and his committee for the excellent manner in which the tournament was carried out and for everything they did to ensure that all visitors to the station enjoyed their visit and their tennis. The committee can rest assured that 1 am only one of the many who thoroughly enjoyed the tournament, and that their efforts have done a tremendous amount of good for tennis in Nelson. —I am, etc., W. C. A. SEXTON. Nelson, 9th April.
